DECLARATION OF DEATH Part I

 DECLARATION OF DEATH.

Part I.
"Have you heard a single thing I've said within the last half hour?"
A male voice eeked up a couple of octives too many to suit Kasey. She was standing inside her walk-in closet arranging outfits in the order she preferred to wear them but with the closet door open she could hear Jax perfectly,
"Sure I have! You've been going on and on about how nobody EVER listens to a single word you say!" Kasey laughed as she spoke which drew a chastising tone from Jax,
"I SAID that every time I get through talking it seems nobody has listened to anything I've said!" Jax went on,
"Just like YOU are doing NOW, Kase! You might have HEARD me but did you LISTEN?"

Kasey turned over the velvet hangar holding a one piece midi-length suit made to look like it was a two-piece skirt and blouse under a smart looking vest.
"Very business-like!" she muttered out loud, proud of herself at having the foresight to make such a thoughtful purchase especially since she'd had no idea she would be considering using it. Ever.
Jax heard her and spouted, sarcasm spewing like a geyser,
"OF COURSE, YOUR WANTS COME FIRST!"

"Look, Jax, I think it's time we take a little break in our...erm...friendship, to give each of us some breathing room which we have not had for, how many years have we been talking every single day?"

Kasey heard no response, nothing but dead air space and when she looked around the closet door she could see a black screen on her wide screen server,
"He's such a CHILD!" Kasey said, laughing again and could've sworn she heard a disgusted sigh in the speakers,
"But it can't be. He's already GONE, isn't that right, Jax?" she giggled in anticipation of Jax's deep voice giving a quick,
"Yeah."
No response.
Kasey walked out of the closet, grabbed her Lite beer off the bedside table and took a sip,
"Yuck! Warm!" and before she tossed it into the trash receptacle on the wall that automatically sucked all trash into the big bin outside, she tore off the tab and threw it into her big shatterproof glass piggy bank in its place beside her bureau. It was pink and huge and gawdy, an abstract against her perfectly adorned room in brilliant white and lavender.
"I'll "never" get rid of you, Pinkie!" Kasey whined in her little girl voice. She'd had that huge bank since she could remember. All the money it had collected was long invested into her savings but she still used the bank for "important stuff" like her lucky tabs off her beers she shared with certain friends. Of course, Jax was never exactly "with" her but she saved the tabs anyway.
